All our boats are reliable, stable & simple to operate. They all have a roll-forward front canopy & a fold-back rear canopy. This allows you to enjoy the sunshine, but keep out most of the rain!
Hiring a day boat from Wroxham Boat Hire is a fantastic way to enjoy the Norfolk Broads & we are very proud & protective of our boats. Although boating is a fun, leisurely activity, we will not hire them to anyone that we feel will potentially mis-treat them or not take their responsibilities seriously. Smoking or the consumption of alcohol is not permitted on any of our boats.
Notes on booking...
As we do not hire to anyone under the age of 25, if you are in your 20's, you may be asked to provide identification & a cash deposit of £250. This will be returned to you after your hire period ends - providing you return on time & there is no damage.
During high season boats may be booked in advance for departures up to 10am. After 10am it becomes first-come-first-served, however bookings are possible later in the day if there is a boat returning from a morning session at a time you wish to begin. Please be aware that during peak time (August in particular) it is very unlikely that you'll be able to just turn up without a booking & find a boat available. Please call & book to avoid disappointment.
IMPORTANT: If you book a boat knowing full well that you will not fit our hire criteria (for example, you are under 25) you will be refused your boat & given a refund, minus the cost of 1 hour. If you are, or appear to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs you will be refused your boat. In this event you will not be refunded.
All advanced bookings are paid in full at the time of booking. Once booked, dates/times are not moveable & cancellations by you will not be refunded. Hire duration will begin at the time the boat is booked. Lost time due to late arrival will not be added to the end of your booking.
FAQ's...
I've never driven a boat before, is this ok?
Sure, we'll show you everything you need to know. However, a degree of common sense is required. If we feel you are simply not suitable for safety reasons you may be unable to hire.
How many people can go on the boat?
We have 6, 7 and 8 seat boats.
Can dogs go on the boats?
Yes & no. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on the electric boats (photographed on the left). Up to two dogs per booking are allowed on the diesel boats, however it depends on the number of people in the party & the breed of the dog. In terms of passenger numbers, a dog is classed as a person. So 5 people & a dog become 6 people. We know it's crazy but they are the Broads Authority rules that we must abide by. Please note that dogs such as Huskies or other breeds that moult excessively are not allowed.
Where do I go?
We'll show you where to go & supply you with a map. It's almost impossible to get lost.
Can I bring a picnic?
Yes, sure. But please note that the boat may be booked again immediately after you & so must be returned clean and tidy, ready for immediate re-hire. Failure to do so will incur a cleaning charge.
Can I bring drinks?
Soft drinks are fine, but alcohol is not permitted on the boats. You wouldn't hire a car with a pack of beers in your hand!
Can I fish from the boat?
No, we do not allow fishing equipment on our boats.
Can I book in advance?
Yes, during the school holidays & warm periods we recommend booking in advance. Before booking, please ensure you read our 'notes on booking' above & our full terms & conditions.
Are there age / weight restrictions?
Yes. By law we can not hire a boat to anyone under the age of 18. However, we do not hire boats to any young groups under 25, or groups that we perceive may not treat the boat or the environment with respect. For safety reasons, anyone over 20 stone will be unable to board a boat.
